May Day - 2016
Sunday, May 1, 2016 was a day of grand celebration at Daniel Chapel as we celebrated with family and friends in a fabulous May Day Worship Service. The day began with Sunday School at 9:30am. Sis. Sharon Mixon brought the lesson on 'Increased Faith' from Luke 17.
Following Sunday School, at 11am the choir brought a tremendous Sermon in Songs that ended in a praise that brought the highest glory to God. Praise the Lord for Rev. Quinton Scurlock and his leadership in the music ministry at Daniel Chapel.
This led into the fellowship, with pot luck food that was fit for a king brought from the homes of of the wonderful DC family. Salads, main dishes, desserts and drinks were in abundance. Many thanks to the Ms. Naomi Ajose and the Culinary Committee for organizing this tremendous meal.
YESTERYEAR - 2016
Yesteryear at Daniel Chapel is our celebration of Black History. This afternoon program was held on Sunday, February 28th. Ms. LaRinda Foster put together a fantastic series of skits, music, readings & dramatical presentations that brought focus to our history, using the many talents found within the Daniel Chapel youth and young adult membership. Thanks goes out also to Mr. Jason Spigner for his culinary skills, and for providing dinner for everyone that attended. We thank God for this Drama Ministry team and the efforts that they put forth to insure that we do not miss out on knowing about our history and celebrating it - intellectually, spiritually and physically.

WOMEN'S WEEKEND - JULY 8-10, 2016
No other words describe this tremendous weekend other than To God be the Glory!
The weekend began on Friday, July 8th at 7pm. The Daniel Chapel choir ministered in song, Sis. Debra Simmons offered a powerful prayer, and Sis. Rhonda Hollins (from St. Andrew AME Zion Church, Gary, IN) brought the Word after a terrific Mime presentation by her son, Tramael. What a way to kick off a dynamic weekend!
Saturday morning, we met for a prayer breakfast at the DoubleTree Hotel in Alsip at 9am. Prayers were offered by Sis. Sharon Mixon, Rev. Edna Lawrence and Sis. Debra Simmons. The food for our bodies was excellent, but more excellence was received from the dance ministry (YADA) and One4Christ, our singing guests, only to be topped off with a Word from the Lord from Rev. Ruby Miles (from Greater Walters AME Zion Church, Chicago and the First Lady of our District). Following our own creativity with a craft adventure, we needed to prepare ourselves for the final day.
On Sunday morning, Sunday School was taught by Sis. Rhonda Hollins to all classes at 9:15am. Following that, the Women's Choir sang to the glory of God in melodious harmony and in great tune. Then, we heard the Word from the Lord from Sis. Jaime Gill (Lost and Found)! Wow - what an end to a tremendous weekend! Visit the photos & videos tab for pics to showcase each day of events.
